How to install iOS 9.3 and get Night Shift on your iPhone without a developer account


Since Apple first released iOS 9 back in September last year, the company’s subsequent software updates have mostly been about housekeeping. A few new features have been added here and there, but we’re sure most users would agree that nothing earth-sha
ttering has been introduced in iOS 9.1 or iOS 9.2.

We’re not sure the new features Apple added in its first iOS 9.3 beta qualify as earth-shattering either, but there’s little question that they have users excited. And as has been the case in the past, you can install Apple’s new beta software on your iPhone without paying $99 for a developer account.




Apple had gone to great lengths in the past to prevent non-developers from installing its iOS beta software on their phones. The logic was simple: Beta software is unstable and letting regular users install it on their phones can lead to headaches for them and headaches for Apple’s support staff.

Now, however, Apple is taking a much more laid back approach. It doesn’t block non-developers from activating their phones with beta software installed, and it even offers a public beta program that anyone can join. Apple’s more lax approach is of particular interest right now because there are some new features in the iOS 9.3 beta that iPhone owners can’t wait to get their hands on — Night Shift, in particular.
